Women’s Wellness with Ayurveda and Yoga Series

  • Healthy Menstrual Cycle

Ayurveda and Yoga provide powerful, natural tools to help support healthy menses. We will explore how the doshas influence a woman’s cycle and how diet, herbs, lifestyle and yoga practices can be tailored to support each different stage. We will also do a sample yoga practice for PMS.

  •  Radiant Pregnancy

The ancient sister sciences of Ayurveda and Yoga provide natural, practical, common-sense tools on how to care for women and alleviate many common discomforts during pregnancy. This workshop covers how to stay healthy and happy during pregnancy through attention to food, herbs, yoga and other healing practices.

  • Postpartum Rejuvenation

The importance of the postpartum period is often underestimated in our modern society. Ayurveda and yoga offer profound wisdom on how to care for women and babies to optimize rejuvenation, health and recovery. This workshop covers diet, lifestyle, herbal support, and instruction on massage for mother and baby. We will also do a sample postpartum yoga practice.


Aromatherapy for the Doshas

Aromatherapy for the doshas explores the world of essential oils through the lens of Ayurveda. We will cover how to use essential oils safely and effectively and which oils are beneficial for each dosha. Our noses will guide us in this aromatic journey and each participant will have the opportunity to create their own unique blend to take home.

Winter Wellness for the Whole Family

This fun workshop covers the basics for protecting your family’s health in the winter months. We will discuss how to treat colds, flu’s, respiratory infections and fevers with herbs, essential oils and foods, at home.  We will try remedies, smell oils and make a delicious immune boosting soup. You will leave inspired and prepared to care for your family this winter and in the years to come.

Herbs for Female Wellness

Come join us on the full moon to learn about herbs for women in their childbearing years. This introductory class will present ways to invite the green world of healing plants into your life. We discuss how to promote wellness of the female reproductive system during menstruation, pregnancy and post-partum. Specific remedies for common complaints such as PMS, irregular cycles, irritability, morning sickness and fatigue will be offered. Women will leave with simple and effective ways to prepare herbs as well as a greater understanding of how to care for themselves during these sacred times.

The Natural Integration of Yoga and Ayurveda

The natural principles of Ayurveda are integrated into certain systems of yoga. This synergistic combination provides powerful tools for radiant health and personal self-development. Just as diet and lifestyle can be tailored to one’s individual constitution, so too asana and pranayama can be adapted to one’s unique body, breath and mind. Through lecture, discussion and yoga practice, students will learn and experience how to ascertain their current state of health, consciously set intentions and then make appropriate choices. Ayurvedic nutrition and lifestyle as well as principles for adapting yoga practice to the individual will be covered, drawing from Sanskrit texts such as the Ashtanga Hridayam, Yoga Sutras and Yoga Rahasya.
